Songshan Mountain: An Origin of Wushu or Martial Arts and Chinese Kung fu

The ancient name of Songshan Mountain was Taibao Mountain or Waifang. Here you will visit Shaolin Temple.

The mountain is vigorous and firm; it erects high up into the clouds and stretches long away. If people look at it from afar, they will think the mountain is like a lying dragon. The Zhongyue temple near it also has mighty momentum. The overall structure of the temple is quite compact; and it mixes with its surroundings properly and completely.

“To wait for the moon rising at the pass of Songshan Mountain and the clear and boundless sky of Shaoshi Mountain” are the two most famous landscapes in Songshan Mountain. Songshan Mountain has elegant water and green mountains; trees cover all the mountain valleys; it is a famous scenery spot ever since ancient time.
