Wedding Ceremony of China Tu Nationality

The whole procedures from proposal and determination of marriage, giving gifts, wedding ceremony, reciprocal banquet and etc. are carried out in song and dance. After entering the husband’s home, the bride is not allowed to enter the room until she walks through a red carpet on the ground together with the bridegroom.
The Tu people are fond of song competition very much, which are held on each Feb. 2, Apr. 8, June 6 and July 17 according to the lunar calendar. In such occasions, the masses and singers within the circumference of several hundred kilometers come together to fully show their singing talents.
