Yellow River – Mother River Gives birth to Traditional Chinese culture

The Yellow River is originated in Maqu at the southwestern corner of Yueguzonglie Basin at the northern foot of Bayangela Mountain in the south of Qinghai Province. Its drainage area in the territory of Qinghai is 152,600km2 and its main stream is 1,694km long. There are numerous lakes and brooks at the source of the Yellow River. It runs through Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan and Shandong nine provinces and autonomous regions and enters Bohai Sea from North Shandong Plain. The whole length of the Yellow River is 5,464km.

With plenty of water and lush grass at the headstream and numerous woods in the valleys along the river, it gives birth to the Chinese culture like a green corridor. The landscapes along the river are natural and beautiful; the humane sights are splendid and attractive; the fold traditions are colorful and diversified.
